The Weight of Fatherhood

This painting is a tribute to my father — a man who carried the weight of responsibility with quiet strength. Growing up, I remember how hard it was every year after summer. School was coming, and my father, a humble fisherman, had to hustle for every cent to make sure we had our school fees ready.

During that season, I would often find him sitting silently on the porch, both hands pressed to his face, deep in thought. That posture — not of weakness, but of love and pressure — became the image that stuck with me. As a child, I didn’t fully understand it. But now as an adult, I realize it was the face of a man sacrificing for his children’s future.

The Weight of Fatherhood is my way of honoring that quiet sacrifice. It’s not just a portrait of my dad — it’s a memory, a story, and a message to all hardworking fathers who carry so much for the people they love. This is my masterpiece for him.
