About Roossevelt Jeudy

Roossevelt Jeudy is a young professional artist who has been active in the field of hyperrealistic painting since the age of 14. He was born in Cayes-Jacmel in 1996 and is currently based in Kabik Beach. Although his original goal was to become an architect or a pilot after completing his classical studies, it was in 2010 that he discovered his true passion for art.

At the time, he used to tease his childhood best friend, who loved practicing art. He would ask questions like:
“Don’t you have anything better to do? Don’t you have homework or schoolwork? What is this even useful for?”
Back then, Roosevelt had no idea or understanding of what art meant. This kind of exchange happened every day between him and his friend, who was always practicing art.

A few days later, Roosevelt had his first experience with painting when that same friend, Wolson Andris, invited him to attend his first art class at Urgès School with Professor Stanley Valmond, where he created his first Taíno painting. He originally joined the art school just to have fun and spend time with his friend, but that’s where his artistic career truly began — with surrealist painting.

A few years later, he met two of his favorite artists: Felipe Attié from Kabik Beach and Loui Jeune Patrice Kenny from Pétion-Ville, who introduced him to the world of hyperrealistic painting. With their support, his career took off and reached a new level.

From 2010 to 2025, Roosevelt has spent 15 years living through painting. That’s how he discovered his true passion for the field. As he often says:
“I went to an art school just to have fun with my best friend.”

Today, Roosevelt is a young professional artist with extensive experience, sharing his work widely and passing on his knowledge to many young people in his community.

From a young age, he understood that art was more than beauty—it was a weapon against silence. His work focuses on themes like freedom, self-love, and identity, using art to tell real stories that inspire change, educate, empower, and give hope — especially to young people who feel left behind. He wants his art to be a book for the future, where others can learn from his journey and see the power of choosing your own path.
